Wal-Mart to Sell McLane Grocery Distributor Business
CHICAGO - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. on Friday said it agreed to sell its McLane grocery distributor business to Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. for about $1.5 billion, reports Reuters.
Weis Markets Posts 28.3 Percent Increase in Fourth-quarter Net Income
SUNBURY, Pa. - Weis Markets Inc. on Monday said its fourth-quarter net income increased 28.3 percent to $16 million compared to an 18.2 percent increase in 2002. In the 13-week period ending Dec. 28, 2002, the company's income from operations increased 22.9 percent to $23.1 million.
