FMI’s Rick Stein to Speak at ReFresh 2017
Rick Stein, VP of fresh foods at Arlington, Va.-based Food Marketing Institute (FMI), will be a speaker at the 16th annual ReFresh fresh food management conference, slated for Sept. 18-21 at the Don CeSar Hotel, in St. Pete Beach, Fla. The multiday conference, dedicated to helping retailers improve their fresh food operations through technology, is held by Jacksonville, Fla.-based Applied Data Corp., a provider of fresh item, recipe management and scales management software to grocers and foodservice providers.
Stein’s presentation on Sep. 20 will spotlight findings from FMI’s “2017 U.S. Grocery Shopper Trends Report,” which explores what consumers most want to know about their food, whom they hold accountable, and the implications that the quest for transparency has for food retailers.
Having joined FMI in 2014, Stein is responsible for developing a portfolio of services and activities to help the organization’s members formulate and executing fresh food strategies. These categories encompass dairy, frozen, meat, poultry, seafood, produce and the service departments of deli, bakery and fresh prepared meals, as well as related solutions for takeout or in-store dining.
