FEBRUARY 27, 2008 -- The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co./Giant Food has added three e.v.p.'s to its executive leadership structure: Jim Dwyer has become e.v.p. of strategy and business development, Robin Michel has joined the retailer as e.v.p. and general manager, Giant-Landover; and Jeff Slater was appointed e.v.p., people.

CALGARY-- Sobeys West is hosting a special open house for invited guests today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to view the retailer's new store at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) Polytechnic here. The store officially opens to the public tomorrow.

WILMINGTON, Del. -- The Produce For Better Health Foundation here has launched a new Web site to educate kids about fruits and vegetables and encourage them to eat more while playing games and exploring other fun, interactive activities.

The store officially opens to the public tomorrow.The 3,000-square-foot location is the first small-format store for the Sobeys banner in western Canada. As well as offering basic grocery and fresh foods for students and guests staying in on-campus residences, the store will carry an assortment of fresh store-made meal solutions, among them roasted chickens, pizza, sandwiches, and salads.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Big Y Foods, Inc. here has promoted Michael P. D'Amour to the new position of v.p. of fresh foods, In his new role D'Amour handle all aspects of the produce, floral, deli, bakery, foodservice, seafood and meat departments at the regional chain. As well as developing a long-term fresh food strategy for Big Y, he will oversee all aspects related to these departments, including financials, training and development, merchandising, advertising, and links to operations. D'Amour will report to v.p. of sales Phillip J. Schneider.
