    To mark the Aug. 16 premiere of the third season of AMC’s award-winning television show, “Mad Men,” the network is launching three viral marketing and social media applications sponsored by Eight O’Clock Coffee: “Mad Men Yourself,” a new online avatar creator featuring artwork by New York-based illustrator and designer Dyna Moe; “Which MadMan Are You?,” a quiz game that identifies which character consumers most resemble; and “Mad Men eCards” featuring the show’s most popular characters.

    The “2009 Mid-year Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Coupon Industry Facts” report from Valassis subsidiary NCH Marketing Services, Inc. has found that CPG coupon distribution has increased in the last five consecutive quarters. Consumers are responding favorably, with 19 percent increased redemption volume in the first half of 2009, vs. the year-ago period.
