2008 Conn. Specialty Food Product Awards Presented
The Connecticut Specialty Food Association’s (CSFA) eighth Product Awards Competition was held this week in Plantsville, Conn. One hundred seventy-eight specialty food items from manufacturers based in the state competed in 19 categories.

Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix Super Markets purchased an industrial facility in Pompano Beach, Fla. that it will use as a drop point for suppliers to unload goods for area Publix stores. The acquisition comes just over a month since the grocer announced plans to build a new 970,000 square foot warehouse and distribution center in Orlando.
